Meet My Family

Denis and I were married on April 13, 1996, in Houston, Texas. We met at St. Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church where we were members of two different choirs. Both choirs sang for our wedding. We both enjoy listening to various types of music, singing in the choir, and playing musical instruments. The traditional choir, which I am a member, gives a few concerts each year in addition to singing each Sunday. During the summer, we perform with the Houston Sinfonietta. The highlight of the year is the annual Christmas concert. This concert includes all the choirs of St. Cyril: The St. Cyril Choir, The St. Cyril Singers, Coro Hispano, and Evensong. When we moved to the Dallas area earlier this year, we found a new choir to be a part of at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Rockwall.

As mentioned, we recently have moved. We lived in Missouri City, in southwest Houston, until May of this year when Denis' group at Texas Instruments, where he works as a design engineer and is a Senior Member of Technical Staff, was transferred to Dallas. Currently, I am working on making our house our home by finding places for everything and decorating as well as getting BeauReview off the ground.

In January of this year, we found out some great news that we are going to be first-time parents. After a relatively uneventful pregnancy, Thomas Roland was born on September 23rd. Thomas has brought much more than we could have ever imagined to our little family. It is fun watching him discover his surroundings. He smiles and laughs a lot and has started 'talking'. Thomas was baptized in November. All of his grandparents and several of his aunts, uncles and cousins came to see him. We do have a few of Thomas' true first pictures taken before he was born.

Since we enjoy water sports as well as living away from town, we searched and found a beautiful house on the lake in Rowlett, just northeast of Dallas. From our home, we can watch the sun rising over the lake. It truely is beautiful. We enjoy riding our jetski, which Denis was able to get out onto the lake with several times this summer.

My Background

I was born in Houston and lived in the surrounding area until this past May. Most of my family and many of my longtime friends are still living in Houston. It was not easy to move away from all of them. My mom, Mary Louise, and my sisters, Beth and Jennifer, all live in Houston. My dad, Dennis, lives in Missouri City and owns a small printing company. My brother, Dennis, recently moved back to Texas from Illinois with his wife, Laura, and their two sons Aaron and Nathan. They now live in Rockdale, near Austin. My mom is a graduate of the University of Houston, Beth attended Stephen F. Austin State University, and currently is looking into taking some classes at U of H, and my brother, Dennis, graduated from Southwest Texas State University. I graduated from Sam Houston State University. I played clarinet in marching and concert bands throughout high school and college. While attending Dulles High School in Sugar Land, I won high ratings perfoming solos, as well as performing in ensembles and with the entire band at UIL marching contests, UIL solo & ensemble contests, as well as UIL concert and sightreading contests.

Interesting Places

I was bitten by the "travel bug" many years ago. Take a look at some of the places I've visited as well as some of the places I'd like to visit.

Denis asked me to marry him while we were in Maui, Hawaii. It was a wonderful trip. Big Bend National Park in far West Texas, is a great place to visit and go hiking. Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado, is enchanting. I've always loved visiting Washington D.C. I can get lost for hours in the Smithsonian and just walking through the monuments. During the summer of 1996, we visited the Netherlands. While there, I was able to take a trip into Amsterdam with some friends. I've always wanted to visit Madrid, and since my grandfather was born in Hungary, I've wanted to visit Budapest and some of the places he knew there. Also, one of these days, I'll get to see the Grand Canyon.

Stay tuned! More to come..........
